This Cookie Notice explains how AXSYS LLC (“AXSYS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies through axsysllc.com, api.axsysllc.com, the customer portal and dashboard, and an AXSYS-operated Service that links to this notice (collectively, the “Services”).
This notice supplements the Privacy Policy. A product that identifies a different cookie notice is governed by that notice.
1. What these technologies are
A cookie is a small piece of data associated with a browser and sent with requests to a website. A cookie may expire when the browser closes or remain until its stated expiration, renewal, or deletion. An HTTP-only cookie cannot be read by ordinary browser scripts.
Browser local storage keeps a value in the browser until the value is cleared or replaced. Server logs and network reports are generated by servers, networks, or supported browsers and do not necessarily place a file on the user’s device.
2. Technologies we use
axsess authentication cookie
- Category: strictly necessary authentication and security;
- Provider: AXSYS through its website and application infrastructure;
- Purpose: stores a secure token used to recognize an authorized user of authenticated dashboard features, including project, relationship, and billing-maintenance areas;
- Protection: the cookie is marked Secure and HTTP-only, so it is transmitted over secure connections and is not available to ordinary browser scripts; and
- Duration: no more than seven days after issuance or renewal. The session may be renewed as an authorized user continues using authenticated parts of the Services.
The axsess token is not an advertising identifier and is not used to track a person across unrelated websites.
axsys-theme browser local storage
- Category: functionality preference;
- Provider: AXSYS;
- Purpose: remembers whether the user selected the light or dark display theme; and
- Duration: remains until the user changes it, clears the Site’s local storage, or the browser removes it.
The theme value is a display preference and is not used to identify an account or follow activity across other websites.
Cloudflare delivery and security technology
AXSYS uses Cloudflare for content delivery, request handling, availability, security, and email-address protection. Cloudflare may process request metadata such as IP address, browser information, requested resource, security signals, and timestamps. It may also provide an email-address decoding script and receive network-error reports from supported browsers. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies when necessary to provide or protect these functions. The exact technology and duration may vary based on the security event and Cloudflare service behavior.
Server, application, and network logs
AXSYS and its infrastructure providers generate logs needed to route requests, authenticate accounts, detect abuse, investigate errors, maintain availability, and protect the Services. Logs may include IP address, browser or device type, endpoint, timestamp, response status, login or session event, and diagnostic or network-error information.
3. Technologies we do not use
The corporate website does not currently use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies;
- Cross-site behavioral tracking;
- Third-party audience analytics such as Google Analytics;
- Session-replay or keystroke-recording technology;
- Social-media tracking pixels; or
- Browser fingerprinting for advertising.
If AXSYS introduces a non-essential technology, we will update this notice and provide a preference or consent mechanism when required by applicable law.
4. Your choices
Most browsers allow a user to view, remove, or block cookies and clear browser local storage. The controls are generally available in the browser’s privacy, security, site-data, or developer settings.
Blocking or deleting axsess will prevent or end authenticated dashboard access and may require the user to sign in again. Because the cookie is HTTP-only, it is controlled through the browser’s cookie settings and authenticated Service operations rather than ordinary page scripts.
Clearing axsys-theme removes the stored theme selection. The Site will then use its default behavior, including the operating-system preference where supported.
Because the listed technologies are necessary for authentication, security, delivery, or a user-requested preference, AXSYS does not currently display an advertising-cookie preference dashboard.
5. Retention and security
The duration of the axsess cookie and theme preference is described above. Log and network-report retention varies based on security, reliability, fraud-prevention, contractual, and legal needs. AXSYS does not retain these records longer than reasonably necessary for the disclosed purposes.
Cookies and similar technologies reduce some risks but cannot make a Service completely secure. Users should protect credentials, secure their devices, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this notice when the technologies or Services change. We will post the revised notice and update its effective date. A material change may receive additional notice through the Site, account, dashboard, or email when appropriate.
